In the process of exhibiting and collecting artworks, attention should extend beyond their aesthetic appeal and value to the “invisible threats” that may affect their preservation. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, and air quality may not cause immediate visible damage, but their cumulative effects over time can gradually impact the materials and condition of artworks. As different materials have different preservation requirements, a well-controlled collection environment is an essential foundation for safeguarding artworks.

Bossmen has long been dedicated to the preservation of art and cultural heritage. From preservation cabinets and storage environments to temperature and humidity management, Bossmen provides collection environment planning based on the materials, dimensions, and preservation needs of individual artworks, helping them move beyond simply being “collected” to being properly preserved.

During the exhibition, Bossmen Deputy General Manager Lily Lee presented a forum titled “Sharing Artistic Value, Starting with Preservation.” From the perspectives of art conservation and collection environments, she shared key preservation challenges in the transition from collecting to proper art preservation. Drawing on practical experience, she discussed temperature and humidity control, environmental management, and collection preservation, while highlighting Bossmen’s long-term experience in serving museums, cultural heritage institutions, and the art preservation sector.

Through its collaboration with POYI Art at Art Expo Taiwan 2026, Bossmen explored the different stages of art—from exhibition and collection to preservation—helping visitors recognize the often-overlooked preservation challenges behind the appreciation and collection of artworks. Through the exhibition and its connection with the AASA Art Asset Strategy Alliance, the collaboration presented a comprehensive journey of art from creation and exhibition to collection and preservation.
